Flash... not the photo finish I wanted.

I am cruising down the road, a little over the speed limit, but not enough to hurt anyone. The light turns yellow, I hit the gas to make the light. I see that green box and realize it's a photo enforced light, but it's to late. I've all ready mad the commitment to make the light, then *flash* the light turns red and I see red. I just got a ticket. Now what am I supposed to do? I know I just got a ticket, but did I actually just get a ticket? I didn't get stopped, I just have to wait for the ticket in the mail, while I try and forget this happened. That's not fair, why can I get a ticket without a cop seeing me? Well, before you get upset and try and find some extra cash to pay for this ticket, you might not even get one. These photo enforced lights have to be reviewed to determine if you were actually running the red light. Sometimes these cameras go off for cars making right hand turns after the light is already red. Sometimes there is a car behind you that is trying to squeak by and it seems like you might be the one getting a ticket too. There is some judgement made by officers who review these photos so it is possible that it might not be a sure ticket in the mail. If you are sure it was you that the camera went off for, then there are other options. You could challenge and go to court and hope that the officer who is reviewing the photos doesn't show up. Then the case is thrown out and you are good to go. You can hope that the photo didn't get a clear shot of your face, and you might be able to get out with lack of evidence against you. In the end it comes down to what is worth more to you: your time and energy or the $100 to just forget about it.

I just got a parking ticket!

I just got a parking ticket! What am I going to do? I can't afford this right now. Parking tickets can really put a damper on your day. Plus now you have to use your hard earned money to make up for this little mistake instead of buying that new pair of shoes. Tickets can range in price from as little as $10 in some small towns to hundreds of dollars for a photo enforced red light run. Well, you do have options. That depends on what type of ticket you received.
